Mode-IE (Echo-Echo mode) which allows you to measure the thickness of the base through the coating (eg paint). That is, it is possible to measure the thickness of a metal product through a coating without first removing the paint or other protective coating. In this measurement mode, coating thickness can reach up to 20 mils, but the measurement range at 20 mils coating thickness is up to 3 inches. (The higher the thickness of the coating, the smaller the measurement range of the base)

PE-mode is the standard mode for measuring uncoated bases. The measurement range of the Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge Industrial-888 is 0.039-19.685in (1-500mm).

VERI (Test) mode allows you to check if precious metals are counterfeited and determine their purity. The thickness gauge can be used to identify gold bars, silver bars, gold coins, silver coins and other precious metals.

  1. This is NOT a coating thickness gauge, it is used to measure the thickness of the substrate.
  2. Coupling agent is necessary for measuring. Please note that our thickness gauge doesn’t include the coupling agent.

 

Note!

  1. The binder is necessary for the measurement and must be evenly applied to the measured points on the surface of the object under test. (Please note: Couplant is not included).
  2. Thickness can be measured by lightly pressing the feeler gauge against the surface of the object to which the couplant has been applied.
