This is NOT a coating thickness gauge, it is used to measure the thickness of the substrate. This model is equipped with an ECHO mode and can be used to measure metal thickness through paint or other coatings. (IE) Echo to echo interface, which is suitable for measuring the thickness of various materials in which ultrasound can propagate at a constant speed. (You must first set the appropriate sound speed in the thickness gauge menu for the material).
